I’m Lauren Snailham-Haynes, a psychologist with over 18 years of experience working across a variety of contexts, including government settings and private practice.

While I work with individuals across the lifespan, I have a particular interest in working with children and their emotional development.

Over the years, my work has been shaped by both clinical experience and ongoing exploration of how children communicate, cope, and make sense of their world. This has led me to integrate a range of expressive and creative therapeutic approaches into my work.

I am also the author of 23 therapeutic storybooks for children, designed to support emotional understanding, connection, and healing through storytelling. My work has been presented at the international conference: “It’s a Beautiful Day in the Playborhood: 2nd World Edition”, and I have contributed to three publications by Liana Lowenstein, a leading voice in the field of child and play therapy.

What I’ve come to understand through both research and experience is this:

There is no one right way for a child to express what they feel.

Some children talk.
Many do not.

Instead, they draw.
They build.
They play.
They move.
They create.

This is why my work centres around expressive and creative therapeutic approaches, offering children different ways to connect, communicate, and process their experiences.

Because when a child feels safe enough to express…that’s where healing begins.
